The 1st class for the 2nd Austell Police Citizen's Academy will be on Tuesday September 10 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Austell Police Department, located at 2721 Joe Jerkins Blvd. Austell, Ga. 30106. See list below for dates, times & locations for all classes.

The 1st night wear loose clothing. You will be participating in the physical standards required by the Austell Police Department for hiring purposes. You will not be asked to participate in any activity that you feel would be harmful to your health.
This is a free course. In class, you will learn about the Austell Police Department's day to day operations and scope of their authority. You will be taught how to assist the Police by being aware of your surroundings, as well as how to de-escalate developing situations. Classes will be taught on K-9 operations, use of speed detection devices, defensive tactics, gun safety, and other interesting topics. The class will also include a trip to the firing range, where you will experience firing a weapon carried by Officers.
