Criminal Investigations Unit
The Austell Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) is tasked with investigating a variety of criminal complaints here in the City of Austell. They are tasked to identify and apprehend offenders, evaluate facts about criminal activities, preserve evidence and property, and present evidence to the courts to seek successful prosecution of offenders.
Austell Police Department Detectives are trained to investigate in several areas to include:
- Fraud
- Property Crimes
- Death Investigations
- Domestic Violence
- Crimes Against Children and the Elderly
- Assault and Battery
- Missing Persons
- Sex Crimes
